Tacoma Strength Re-Opens June 8 [UPDATED: 26 JUNE 2020]
[UPDATED: 26 JUNE 2020]
To Our Tacoma Strength Community: We are excited to announce that Tacoma Strength is reopening on Monday June 8th.
The State of Washington has provided guidelines to help us safely reopen during these challenging times. There are going to be adjustments for all of us but together we can navigate this transition as smoothly as possible to create a safe and fun environment for everyone.
Things You Need To Do Before Your First Class
- Sign Your Waiver
Before returning, you are required to sign an updated waiver. The waiver will be both made available online and emailed to you.
- [UPDATED: 26 JUNE 2020] Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
State guidelines require you to wear a mask you enter and leave the gym. You may remove your mask while you are working out but must have a mask on whenever you are not actively working out.
- [UPDATED: 26 JUNE 2020] Arrive Dressed And Ready
Please be dressed in your mask, workout clothes before you enter the gym. The changing rooms and showers will be closed for member use. If possible try and use the restroom before showing up at the gym. This will help us with cleaning requirements.
- Arrive On Time (Not Too Early. Not Too Late.)
Class admittance will begin ten (10) minutes before the start of each session. If you arrive early, please wait in your vehicle.
Be on time. You will be assigned an area within the gym to provide you with plenty of distancing space. Be on time and ready to go so that classes can run smoothly without interruption and your having to cross through spaces.
- Use The Front Door
State guidelines request that all members enter the building through one entry. We chose the front door.
- Wash Your Hands
We ask that you wash your hands as you enter the gym before heading to your space. We encourage you to wash your hands as you leave us for the day. If the washrooms are being utilized we ask that you not congregate near them but instead space yourself and be patient.
- Respect Each Other
These are challenging times. Consider the guidelines that we are asking of you as minimums. If someone within our community chooses to do more then allow them that right with dignity. Be mindful that each of us has circumstances that we are working through.
If you need additional considerations to feel safe with returning to the gym please reach out to us.
Class Changes
- Reserve Your Class Spots
State guidelines ask that we limit our class sizes to five (5) members plus one (1) instructor.
Use the “PushPress Member Portal” app (available for both iOS and Android) to reserve your spot in advance. We will have to turn you away if you try to drop in and the class is full.
Be mindful and understand that if you reserve a class please show up for that class. If you reserve a class and cannot make that class then please cancel the reservation on the Push Press Member Portal. We understand things can happen at the last minute but please be sure you can make that class so another member is not missing an opportunity.
There will be some sessions that will offer two (2) classes running at the same time. Each class will have its own coach. All class rules still apply.
- Workout Stations
Each person will be assigned an area where they can complete their workout with adequate social distance. The equipment for the day will be ready for you or the coach will let you know when it is appropriate to grab additional equipment that is needed.
If you would like your own chalk bring in a container or plastic bag and we will provide you with chalk. Please let us know in advance so that we can prepare your block.
- Clean Up
When you have completed your workout, wipe down all equipment that you used.
Guideline Limitations
- State guidelines currently are not allowing members of our community who are sixty-five (65) years of age or older to return to the gym during this phase. We’re not thrilled about it either.
- State guidelines currently are not allowing for the resumption of gym childcare. Children will not be allowed in the gym during this phase.
Open Gym
Open gym as it was will not be possible under the current guidelines. If open gym was and is the only time you are able to utilize the gym please contact a coach or staff member to help guide you through your options.
The guidelines that the State has provided are meant to keep everyone safe. We realize that this isn’t how it was. We recognize that this isn’t perfect. We are hoping that we can get back to normal soon but until then it’s up to all of us to do the best we can with what we can.
Please follow this link to watch how to register for classes. You will need to download the Push Press Member Portal App on your phone. Registration for each class session opens up 24 hours in advance of that class time.
If you are still in need of a hold on your membership please send us an email.
If there are any questions, concerns, or suggestions please let us know.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon. #tacomatogether
